4th of July hotdogs
Every year, my girlfriend Laura and I celebrate 4th of July with our closest friends. We usually do it at my best friend’s house near the lake. We just buy the hotdogs and some steak to cook for the occasion. Laura on the other hand, enjoys eating hotdogs on a bun. From then on, I knew that it would be an excellent way to propose to her.
We were both excited as 4th of July weekend came. We went to Costco to buy some hotdogs and other ingredients that we would need for the big day. While doing so, I figured how I would do my proposal to Laura. I thought, maybe I could carve on the hotdogs the words: WILL YOU MARRY ME LAURA.
We finally approached my best friend’s house and I took the responsibility of preparing the hotdogs. Kyle and Nish helped me prepare the hotdogs while I carve the words on it. They were all excited with the idea of my proposal, so they got Laura to just sit down and relax with the girls. Clueless as she is, she never argued about helping. We boys took care of the barbeque and hotdogs and the girls prepared the paper plates and utensils.
The hotdogs were cooked perfectly, and the words on it were pretty obvious. It was then time for me to present my dish for Laura. Everybody else was thrilled to see the hotdogs and Laura was ready to eat them. So when I lay the huge plate down, she was shocked to see the hotdogs with carved words on it. I pulled the out the box with the 1.7 carat fancy yellow diamond engagement ring inside it.
There were aaaww’s from our friends as I knelt down on one knee and said “what will be your answer if I ask you to marry me?” There were tears on her eyes as she said “Yes Benj, I will definitely marry you!” We hugged each other tight, and enjoyed our friends’ company as we all celebrated 4th of July.
