Diamond Color Tips
As you know from previous articles the most expensive diamonds are the colorless D diamonds. As you move to the other side of the diamond color scale, the price decreases tremendously.
The difference between the colorless D diamond and very light yellow for example could be in thousands of dollars.
So it is important to know which diamond color to purchase. The near colorless grade G H I of a diamond could still be perfect for you. Remember the difference in such high grades can not be seen with your eyes. Most people can hardly see the difference between G and H grade for example. This is how you can save several hundreds of dollars or even more.
So why buy the highest grade if a slightly lower grade can have the same appeal to your eyes and the lower price.
Also you have to know that not all the certificates that come from the different organizations have exactly the same classification.
For example EGL D grade can be different than a GIA D and the reason is the lower accuracy in EGL certificate.
Different diamond laboratories like GIA, EGL or IGI have different training, different grading.
Choosing the correct diamond setting
Also the appropriate diamond setting can hide some diamond inclusions or for example a slight yellow color of a diamond. A diamond like that can become colorless because of the setting. For example if the setting is in white metal, the yellow tones of the diamonds could be enhanced, yellow gold setting can easily make a diamond colorless.
